Document Vault Terms of Use
The terms for storing and managing documents in your Document Vault.

1. Introduction
These Document Vault Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Comparison Junction Document Vault ("Document Vault").
Document Vault is a secure digital feature that enables customers to upload, organize, manage, and access electronic copies of important documents related to their relationship with Comparison Junction and other personal or business records.
By using Document Vault, you agree to these Terms, as well as the Comparison Junction Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and any other applicable agreements.
2. Parties
These Terms are entered into between:
Comparison Junction and CJ OWL are brands operated by Comparison Junction, Inc., together with its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, authorized representatives, contractors, and designated service partners (collectively referred to as "Comparison Junction," "CJ," "CJ OWL," "we," "our," or "us");
and the Customer ("Customer", "you", or "your").
3. Purpose of Document Vault
Document Vault is designed to help customers securely organize, manage, and access copies of important documents.
Document Vault is intended as a convenience feature to support document organization and customer services.
Document Vault is not intended to replace your responsibility for maintaining original documents or independent backup copies of your records.
4. Types of Documents
Customers may store documents such as:
- Utility Bills
- Internet Bills
- Mobile Bills
- Insurance Policies
- Mortgage Documents
- Loan Documents
- Contracts
- Identification Documents
- Membership Documents
- Comparison Junction Reports
- Savings Opportunity Reports™
- Customer Authorizations
- Other supported document types
Comparison Junction may limit supported document types, file formats, storage capacity, or file size.
5. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Uploading accurate and complete documents.
- Ensuring documents belong to you or that you have authority to upload them.
- Keeping uploaded documents current.
- Reviewing stored documents for accuracy.
- Maintaining original paper records where appropriate.
- Maintaining independent backup copies of important documents.
- Protecting your account credentials.
You must not upload documents that:
- Infringe intellectual property rights.
- Contain malicious software.
- Violate applicable laws.
- Belong to another person without authorization.
- Contain illegal or prohibited content.
6. Comparison Junction Responsibilities
Comparison Junction will use commercially reasonable efforts to:
- Store documents securely.
- Protect customer privacy.
- Restrict access to authorized personnel.
- Maintain system availability.
- Protect stored documents against unauthorized access using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
- Maintain appropriate audit logging and security controls.
Comparison Junction does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or absolute security.
7. Security Measures
Comparison Junction may implement security measures including:
- Encryption in transit.
- Encryption at rest.
- Secure authentication.
- Multi-factor authentication (where available).
- Access controls.
- Audit logs.
- Malware scanning.
- Security monitoring.
- Backup and recovery procedures.
These measures are designed to reduce risk but cannot eliminate all security threats.
8. No Professional Advice
Document Vault is a document management service only.
The storage of documents does not constitute:
- Legal advice.
- Financial advice.
- Tax advice.
- Insurance advice.
- Investment advice.
- Professional certification of any document.
Customers remain responsible for obtaining professional advice where appropriate.
9. No Guarantee
Comparison Junction does not guarantee that:
- Uploaded documents are accurate or complete.
- Documents remain legally valid.
- Documents satisfy regulatory or legal requirements.
- Documents will be accepted by utilities, suppliers, insurers, financial institutions, or other third parties.
- Uploaded information is free from customer errors.
- Every uploaded document will remain available without interruption.
Document Vault should not be relied upon as your sole repository of important records.
10. System Availability
Comparison Junction will use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain Document Vault availability.
However, availability may be affected by:
- Scheduled maintenance.
- Emergency maintenance.
- System upgrades.
- Internet disruptions.
- Cloud infrastructure failures.
- Cybersecurity incidents.
- Third-party service outages.
- Force majeure events.
- Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Temporary interruptions do not constitute a breach of these Terms.
11. Customer Backup Responsibility
Customers should always retain:
- Original documents.
- Independent electronic backup copies.
- Copies stored outside Document Vault.
Document Vault is intended to complement—not replace—your personal recordkeeping.
Comparison Junction recommends maintaining at least one independent backup of all important documents.
12. Access Authorization
Access to customer documents is strictly limited.
Authorized personnel may access documents only when reasonably necessary for purposes such as:
- Customer support.
- Savings Opportunity Reviews.
- Customer-authorized services.
- Identity verification.
- Provider coordination requested by the customer.
- Fraud prevention.
- Security investigations.
- Regulatory compliance.
- Legal obligations.
- System maintenance where access is technically required.
All access is subject to appropriate authorization, confidentiality obligations, and internal controls.
13. Document Sharing
Comparison Junction will not disclose your documents to providers or third parties unless:
- You expressly authorize the disclosure.
- Disclosure is reasonably necessary to perform a service you requested.
- Disclosure is required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other lawful governmental request.
- Disclosure is necessary to protect legal rights, prevent fraud, investigate security incidents, or protect customers or the public as permitted by law.
Where practicable, Comparison Junction will limit shared information to the minimum reasonably necessary for the intended purpose.
14. Document Retention
Documents will generally remain available while your account is active, subject to storage limits, legal requirements, and these Terms.
Following account closure:
- Customers may have a limited opportunity to download their documents, where technically feasible.
- Documents may be deleted after the applicable retention period.
- Certain records may be retained where required by law, regulatory obligations, legal proceedings, fraud prevention, security investigations, or legitimate business purposes.
Deleted documents may remain in secure backups for a limited period before permanent deletion in accordance with Comparison Junction's data retention policies.
15. Intellectual Property
Customers retain ownership of documents they upload.
By uploading documents, you grant Comparison Junction a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to store, process, display, and use those documents solely for:
- Providing requested services.
- Operating Document Vault.
- Delivering customer-authorized services.
- Complying with legal obligations.
Comparison Junction does not claim ownership of customer documents.
16. Suspension or Termination
Comparison Junction may suspend or terminate access to Document Vault if:
- These Terms are violated.
- Fraud or unlawful activity is suspected.
- Security risks arise.
- System maintenance requires temporary suspension.
- Required by law.
Termination of Document Vault access does not necessarily terminate other Comparison Junction services.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Comparison Junction's Document Vault is provided as a convenience feature.
Comparison Junction shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from:
- Customer failure to maintain original or backup records.
- Temporary service interruptions.
- Customer-uploaded inaccuracies.
- Third-party system failures.
- Unauthorized access resulting from compromised customer credentials.
- Loss of business opportunities resulting from customer reliance on stored documents.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
18. Changes to These Terms
Comparison Junction may update these Terms from time to time.
The latest version will always be available through the Customer Trust Center.
Continued use of Document Vault after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Customer Acknowledgement
By using Document Vault, I acknowledge that:
- I have read and understood these Terms.
- I understand that Document Vault is a document organization and management service.
- I remain responsible for maintaining my original documents and independent backup copies.
- I understand that Comparison Junction uses commercially reasonable efforts to protect stored documents but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or absolute security.
- I authorize Comparison Junction to process my uploaded documents in accordance with these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
